Probably the most memorable Chianti I’ve tried. A beautiful garnet colour in the glass with a hint of tawny at the rim. The nose has a subtle complexity that draws you in for more. Stewed and sour cherry, leather, dried herbs, sweet tobacco, cassis, a touch of balsamic reduction, and a Tuscan dust and pepper quality that extends on the palate right through to the finish. Tannins are medium plus, but fine and chewy. Acidity and body are both medium plus. Length is excellent.
