A 2016 Shiraz from the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. The grapes were harvested from a single block (#14) of a vineyard at 450m in altitude. Black pepper, cinnamon, star anise, plum, blackberry, violets, mocha, green bell pepper. The finish lingers for up to a minute, with plum, cinnamon, anise. Very well-made high quality Shiraz. Silky tannins, warm hug of 13.5% alcohol.
Smooth as silk
Started off with a nice aroma of black fruit such as black berries. I found the balance of the wine was off. The tannis were smooth but the acidity was a little high. I also found the wine a little hot. I see this was rated a 92 a year ago. I wonder if that was it's peak because a year later I would not say that it is a 92.
