Atypical for Syrah, but delicious. Black currant, pepper, tea and wine gums on the nose, followed by a lively dry but juicy palate.

There are hits and misses in the Wine Exchange selections, but even after considering the personal taste factor, this syrah felt like more of a miss. No CdR north here, this is more in overtly fruity, ripe, sweet territory (blame it on the Mediterranean if you may, but not sure that would be entirely fair.)

Hits and misses with the exchange wines, and this is a definite miss. Dominant flavours of mustard and tomatoes, easily the worst wine of the year.

I used my Coravin last night alongside some delectable lamb burgers with fresh mint and oregano. unfortunately, the lamb burgers were screaming and not the wine. Highly acidic, very herbaceous, sweet candied rhubarb and a long finish (not a good thing though). Had another splash this evening. I need to think of a pairing before I try it again.
