Deep Golden yellow in colour would have one believe this is an older wine. First whiff and taste will dispel any notions of a maturing wine, this is fresh and lively, with fine acidity underlying citrus and apple flavours. Concentrated and long finishing, oak is but a vague accent. I imagine that this would fetch high $20 range if this was labelled Loire Valley instead of Stellenbosch. Such is perception in the wine world but as wine lovers, our gain. Tasted Dec 2018.
Such a characterful wine! Wish I had bought more.
Fragrant, highly aromatic nose offers nutty and lanolin aromas. The medium-full bodied palate is structured with very good fruit concentration and white and yellow fruit, and apple flavours. Nicely textured with a spicy mid-palate, vibrant acidity, and finishing long. Tasted June/2019. Score: 90+ pts
This bottle was much better than the first
