Super aromatic like most Australian wine. Lots of vanilla. Mint, ripe blueberry, blackberry, baking spice, black pepper, smoked meat, licorice, orange rind. Tannins really grip the tongue. Drying. Very long finish of orange rind, licorice. This is a sticky chewy 14.5% alcohol wine but you wouldn't know it.
Very tasty blend. Big dark fruit flavours, long finish, nicely done. Great with grilled beef. Ready now, but this should hold for a few years easily.
From first whiff through the finish, this wine is dominated by the coconut/vanilla from the obviously generous oak ageing. Seems like there is some nice ripe fruit in there but I just can't get past the wood. If you like that sort of thing, you'll love this but it ain't my cuppa. tasted Feb 2019.
