In my heaven, the angels are purple.
Best vintage since 2007. I added a point for value as this is an ultra-premium wine for a fraction of the price of a top-end Napa or Italian.
A 2015 Carmenere-dominated Chilean red from Montes in the Colchagua Valley. Deep inky purple color due to the 8% Petit Verdot. Aromas of blueberry, green bell pepper, vine leaf, graphite, copper. Silky smooth milk chocolate finish (long) with dried herbs and mild spice. Acidity is low, tannins are medium, alcohol is hot. This is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels in the presence of Gregorian chants.
Fantastic. Explosion of the senses. Perennial winner.
Blend of 92% and Carmenere and 8% Petit Verdot. Fairly intense nose and ripe with purple, red and black fruits, followed by currant, oak, and floral aromas. The medium-full bodied palate is dense with very good fruit concentration and lovely, ripe fruited aroma replays, Smooth and dusty tannins add a nice textural character. Nicely balanced overall and excellent finish length. Tasted May/2019.
