A 2007 wine from the Montepulciano village in southern Tuscany. This is about 75% Sangiovese grape varietal blended with other local varieties. Strong aromas of black cherry, blueberry, black olive, fresh cut violets, potting soil, mushrooms, oak, dill, licorice, pepper. This is very complex wine. So much going on. The tannins are high and drying. The acidity is noticeable, but pleasant and paired exceptionally well with a steak. The alcohol was well balanced with the other components. Your tongue will tingle, your mouth will water. Highly enjoyable.
